Crime Scene at the Barry's

This afternoon as I was backing the truck out of the driveway I ran over a bucket of paint. Devin is perplexed as to how this happened because he says he moved it out of the way. I am perplexed as to how this happened because I was smack dab in the middle of the driveway as I was backing out, and why on earth would a red bucket of paint be in the middle of the driveway?

Are You Jealous of Me?

Are you jealous of me because I always have the cutest and best pictures of Sam?

First of all, Sam is the cutest boy in the universe, and secondly, I have the world's best photographer at my disposal. Guess what!? My photographer, none other than Selena Sorensen, will be in town for 2 months this summer (June and July), so she can be at your disposal too. If you are interested email her at selenaashley@gmail.com . I'd take advantage of this if I were you. Look at some of the amazing pictures she takes. These people are all ugly in real life.

Life

So here is what's been going on in our lives the past 2 weeks.

We kind of hate Dixie. She has been such a brat ever since we got George, and now that George is gone, her bad behavior is still hanging around. Devin redid our entire backyard recently, adding grass and 3 trees. Dumb Dixie has dug up 2 of the trees (I'm talking roots and all), and dug a huge hole in the middle of the grass. Contrary to what our past actions have said about us, we are not going to get rid of her. We have had her since before we got married, and she is a part of our family. I definitely just said that about a dog. But really though, Sam might go into a deep depression if Dixie was no more.

I am doing what I do best during pregnancy and packing on the weight. I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but it is safe to say I've gained 20+ lbs. Yep, I'm only 5 months along.

Speaking of packing on the weight, I've decided to eat "God-made" again. I am so excited about this. (Yes, it is safe to start this again even though I'm pregnant...I discussed it with my doctor. He said ideally every pregnant woman should be eating that way). This morning Sam and I went to Sprouts to stock up on fruit and vegetables. I think this is going to be a good thing.

After Sprouts we went to Fry's since they had mangos on sale 2 for $1. What a rip. The mangos were all very small and shriveled. Sam was close to being fed up with being in the shopping cart, so I put him in one of those race car ones. He was the happiest boy alive. He was screaming "WEEEEE!" every time I'd turn on a different aisle. He is so much fun. As we were checking out we had a very chatty bag boy, probably about 16 or 17 years old. He was talking about the new Nightmare on Elm Street movie. As soon as he brought it up I had this tiny feeling that I needed to mention the Church to him. My first thought was, "dangit." Then I thought, "Well, I can tell him I don't watch rated-R movies because I'm Mormon...?" As I was thinking and putting my groceries on the conveyor belt the chatty bag boy had moved on to another subject. He was talking about his favorite author, Dan Koonitz, I think? and telling me that he tells EVERYONE he meets about him because he's such a great writer. As I was putting my receipt away I finally got brave and said, "You know what you should read? The Book of Mormon." He gave me a little laugh and a look that said "Yeah right." Luckily my turn in line was over. After an awkward, "Well, see ya!" Sam and I wheeled away to our big blue truck. Sam had a meltdown as I put him in the car seat because I was taking him away from the race car cart. This was his worst public tantrum to date. People were staring.

The gospel is true and I love it.

The End.

p.s.
I have a theory that after you become a stay-at-home mom, all your adventures happen at the grocery store. Today reaffirmed that theory.

Happy 25th Selena!

Dear Selena,
I love you so and I'm so glad today is your birthday. I wanted to do a whole post of old embarrassing pictures of you (to show my love, of course), but I can't figure out how to scan multiple pictures on my new computer. I might need your help with that when you ARE HERE IN A FEW WEEKS!!!!!!!!!! You do realize you're making my life complete by coming, right? Even though I didn't get to scan all the pictures, I still looked through them. They reminded me that I love you. I love that you were there for my pre-Mormon days, and I was there before you became a Sorensen (and a skinny girl). Haha sorry had to throw that one in there. I am so glad that we are still best friends even though you are in Utah. I know we will always be because you are a stalker and I am too lazy to make new friends.

Welp, that's it! Remember that you looked better on Myspace and have a great day!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

-Allison

Headed in the Wrong Direction

I am sick of being sick.

I thought by this point I would be in 2nd trimester bliss, being 18.5 weeks along and all, but no, my body has decided that it's time to throw up all the time.

I HATE throwing up. i'm the type that will lay for hours, hoping that the feeling will pass, rather than endure the violence of vomiting.

Those of you who have been pregnant, especially with girls, please tell me that this will pass!

p.s.
I did wear my "it's a girl" shirt on the day we found out the sex, but I think I'm done posting pictures of myself, taken by myself. It's too embarrassing.
