Things here at the Barry house are pretty much the same as they have been the past few weeks. I am still glued to the couch and manage to make it into the shower every 3 days or so. I have a knot in my hair that I cannot untangle for the life of me! Maybe I'll let it become a dredlock.
The highlight of my week so far was when my friend, Mandy, brought us dinner on Monday. She made the most delightful chicken rice thing. I was very depressed when I finished the rest of the leftovers last night.
I've got to stop hanging around the house in my undies. Twice this week we've had unexpected visitors stop by, and I've had to act cool and collected while hiding under a blanket.
Sam is such a sweet little thing. He is doing so well considering I haven't taken him outside to play in such a long time. He seems content just to hang around here, bringing me books to read to him every so often.
I hope to be up and about sooner rather than later so I can live my life again!

No Hate in Our House
I looked at Devin tonight in the kitchen with sad eyes and asked him, "Do you hate me?"
He had just gone to the store and bought all the ingredients for my formerly favorite meal, fajitas. When he got home and started preparing it, I informed him that the thought of bell peppers made me want to run for the toilet.
Devin laughed and said no, he didn't hate me.
Then I asked, "Are you frustrated?"
He laughed and said yes.
Dear Devin has been picking up all the slack since the normal Allison went missing. He has been doing all the Bashas' runs, changing most of the poopie diapers, getting me drinks of water, ginger ale, and crackers within the first 3 seconds of me being awake, and the list goes on. Saturday night he took me out for a Vday dinner, even getting me a card and some candy. I got him nothing.
I looked in the mirror today and saw the first signs of my old BFF: pregnancy face. Crap. It's starting.
A week ago I went to Sprouts and stocked up on my healthy food. Now when I look at that food in the fridge, I get waves of nausea. Oh don't worry, I can eat macaroni and cheese just fine.
After Devin admitted his frustration in the kitchen, I asked him, "Is it worth it?"
Without any hesitation, he said yes.
I like him.

My Dear Friend Motivation, Where Have You Gone?
2 Weeks ago, I was one disciplined, motivated gal. This week, I am a cheater when it comes to my healthy eating. Sliced tomatoes just don't soothe a nauseated stomach like a piece of toast does (or pizza and ice cream, for that matter). I am even less of a housekeeper than I was before (If you know me, you know that's bad). I have cancelled almost every commitment I've had this week, all to spend time on my big brown couch. Am I already letting myself go in only my 7th week of pregnancy??? Life is hard when you're feeling sick, but come on, I was normal just 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!!

Meet George.
George is cute, cuddly, and is up for grabs. I am 100% serious. Do you want him?
You may remember at the end of December Devin lovingly weaseled me into letting him bring home a puppy. We've had him for about six weeks or so now, and I have basically had enough. It's not that George is a bad puppy, it's just that he is a puppy. He is a bitey, bouncy, energetic puppy that I just sadly have no patience for. I keep him outside all day so I won't have to deal with him. I know in about a month or so it will be way too hot to do that (huskies are INDOOR dogs in Phoenix). Plus, ***BIG ANNOUNCEMENT***Baby #2 is on the way, and morning sickness has hit me full-force. I don't want to still be cleaning up puppy pee when the baby arrives (beginning of October).
I told Devin this morning that I can't take George anymore. He quietly gave me permission to do what I need to do. So, please take our puppy! We are giving him away for free if it is to a home we know we can trust (i.e. that understands that huskies are indoor dogs. Did I mention that above?)
P.S...
Brooklynn I know you will be heartbroken when you read this.
P.S.S.
Stacie, we named George after your former puppy, George. Funny that you ended up getting rid of him, too :)

I fell off the Wagon
Well, sort of. Devin left me this weekend to go on a campimg trip. I found this to be a perfectly good excuse to have several cheat meals. So far, I have hit Paradise Bakery, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. Wow. I grossed myself out just typing that. Good thing tomorrow is Sunday, so I won't be buying any other "sinful" food. Sunday is also the start of a new week, which means a fresh new start to my Maker's Diet weekly cycle.
Devin will be returning home some time tomorrow. I have missed him and have been afraid at night (i'm a baby when it comes to sleeping in a house by myself), but it has also been nice having Sam all to myself. I love that he is my constant buddy and that he goes everywhere I go. Who ever knew I could love a little boy so much?

Aren't They Grand?
This past Thursday Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw started their long journey back to Georgia. After being here for 2 months, it is a whole lot more quiet around here now. Lonlier too. Here is a video we made before they left.
