The Wedding Blues

After any big event, like vacation, a friend coming into town, etc., I always get depressed the day after because all the fun is over. That's how I'm feeling these past few days after Selena and Russ' wedding. It was magnificent! I am so happy for them and Selena looked gorgeous.
This past Thursday me, Devin, Brenda, and Marci went to the temple. It was a pretty funny group, so of course we had to take a picture...

Here is a picture of me and Brooklynn. SHOUT OUT TO MY FAVORITE SISTER IN LAW UNDER 15!!!!

I apologize for the scary faces I make in pictures lately. I just cannot bring myself to smile with my new round face. Ergo, the ugly faces...(see below :)

OOOH We're Halfway There!

Sorry- I cannot say that phrase in my head without hearing Bon Jovi. I am officially 20 weeks pregnant, which means we are halfway done!!! I am so excited to meet our nameless little fellow. He has been kicking like crazy sometimes. I can even feel him from the outside of my stomach now, too.
We are closing on our house in Surprise on June 30! I am very excited to have a house. Our apartment has been a great humble beginning place for us, but we are done. It's dorm-room like charm is now making us very cramped.

Marci Pickett came home from her mission this week! Selena, Daniel, and me (poor Devin was feeling bad due to that prostate junk going on in his body) attended her homecoming talk yesterday. It is good to have her back.

Selena and Russ are getting married THIS WEEKEND! I am just tickled. I am praying that the dress still fits me. If it doesn't, oh well...Selena's sister, Nikki, is also a bridesmaid. We are exactly the same amount pregnant- to the day, so hopefully we will both look pregnant together.

One Sister Short at Hospice

My darling sister Whitney had her last day at Hospice of Arizona this past Friday. She left to do Mary Kay full time (http://www.marykay.com/whitneyneier.com little plug there for my sister). I had a lot of fun working with her. My mom also works at HOA, so everyday is a family affair. Whitney and I would always be caught in the hallways laughing inappropriately loud, farting in the hallways (gross but true), and finding snacks for each other. She is a good girl and I will miss her here at work!
Friday night Devin and I were supposed to attend a wedding reception that we COMPLETELY forgot about. We went to John and Brenda's house so that I could borrow some of Brooklynn's dress-up clothes (for a bridal shower game for Selena) and found John and Brenda all dressed up. It turns out they had just left the same reception, and told us we better hurry up and get there. We had nothing to wear, and no time to go home and change, so we ended up wearing John and Brenda's clothes to the reception! I really got a kick out of it, especially since I wore the dress Brenda was in at the reception 30 minutes earlier. Here is a picture of our John and Brenda fashions.

(that's my new pose, by the way...19 weeks along and 20 lbs. gained...holy crap!)

Our Crazy Weekend

This past weekend was a very eventful one. Friday night was Devin's birthday gathering at his parents' house. His brother, Rich, bought him this lovely shirt...Devin's friends and family call him "Deez Nuts." Dirty, yes, but they call him that just the same. Rich was in South Carolina recently and just happened to see this shirt and bought it for Devin.

Then on Saturday we headed up to Sedona for our anniversary celebration (1 year on June 8). Devin insisted on wearing his "Deez Nutz" shirt while we were at the resort restaurant. I felt like such white trash with him wearing that. I told him all he needs now is one of those shirts with a girl busting out of a bikini standing next to a sports car.

Sedona was fun...we had a MASSIVE cottage for just the 2 of us. It even had a loft with 2 twin beds. Devin said, "If this wasn't our anniversary, I'd be on the horn right now calling up people to join us." Yes, he called the phone "horn."

The whole time Devin kept complaining that he couldn't get all his pee out. He would then complain that his back hurt, his neck was killing him, etc. At one point I asked him if there was anything that didn't hurt. We decided that his lips did not hurt. So meanwhile, his bladder was filling up with pee that he just could not get out. He had not had a full pee session since Friday night.
We got back into town Sunday morning, the day of our actual anniversary. Devin still had not had anything more than drips of pee, so, after his mom and I talking him into it, Devin decided he should go to urgent care. After sitting in the waiting room for about an hour, with a room full of people who were loudly entertained by the show "Dirty Jobs," we were called back. The doctor told Devin that he needed to go the ER because his kidneys could rupture. So, we headed to the ER.
At the ER Devin had to endure a catheter. It was not a happy experience. Devin said it was the worst pain he has ever felt. By the looks of it, I totally agree. I felt so bad for him and there was nothing I could do to stop it. They finally figured out it was a prostate infection. I guess guys can get them as easily as girls can get UTIs. The doctor told him as we left, "drink plenty of water and don't do any bikeriding." and we just bought new bikes for each other for our anniversary.

It's a BOOOOOOOOY!!!!!

Well, I am completey and utterly surprised that I hold in me a little baby BOY! I already love him, though. The only problem is, Devin and I cannot seem to agree on any boy names...we are open for any and all suggestions!

Last night I made these shirts (with Devin's help with the ironing part) to prepare for our big news. I should have seen it as a sign that the boy one just turned out cuter.

18 week-old miracle

This is what the amazing little thing growing inside me looks like. I am so excited for this little thing to come into our lives. We find out tomorrow if it's a little Devin or a little Allison!
Devin and I had quite the weekend. I will give more details in my next post.

My Sweet Husband

Today is Devin's 24th birthday! I always say Devin is part devil because his birthday is on 6/6, plus, his name is only one letter off from the word, "devil." But he's not that devilish usually :)

I am so glad to be married to him- he is a sweet, fun boy. He is doing so well throughout this whole pregnancy thing. He even sleeps next to me on the floor since I all the sudden don't like our bed (no reason, I'm just weird). Devin will probably never read this, but oh well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVIE!!!

We've got some movement!

I am pretty sure I felt the baby move last night! I was laying (lying?) on the ground, and i felt fast little twitches in my stomach. I felt it a total of 3 different times! It is crazy how God knows us and knows what we need- I was starting to feel a little scared because I hadn't felt any movement yet (i know...only 17 weeks along isn't that much), and then He reassured me that all is well. I am so excited for the baby in November!
