Scottee

I talked to my amazing sister-in-law, Scottee, this morning. I am still in shock over what a phenomenal person she is. I have never met anyone who has such a firm grasp of our Father in Heaven's plan for us all. What blows me away is the fact that she was concerned about my feelings and my reaction to the passing of her sweet baby, Trevee.

I am so honored to call Scottee my sister.

Savers and Turbo Jam

Last night Michelle and I went around to Goodwill and Savers hoping to find treasures for our homes. Michelle's keen eye spotted this changing table at Saver's for only $25. With some paint I think it will look very cute in the baby's room.
We thought we could fit it in Michelle's car, but when we attempted to do so we were sadly dissapointed. Luckily, a strange but good samaritan helped us disassemble it and load it in the trunk. Now we just need a crib and a dresser for our little guy and we will be all set!

This past Friday night my sisters and I hung out together because our husbands all went camping. They decided to exercise, I decided to sit and relax on the couch. They will probably hate me for posting this, but what a funny picture. They were really into it. My sister swears by these videos called "Turbo Jam." She has lost a lot of weight using them.

Sleep Freak

Well, as some of you may know, I become an OCD mean person when it comes to sleep. I have to have all conditions perfect in order to fall asleep; it has to be completely dark (I use a blindfold), void of noise except for the humming of a fan, and the perfect temperature. When we first moved into our house, Devin and I moved our mattress out into the family room and slept out there for the first 2 or 3 weeks. The master bedroom is in the front of the house, with 2 huge windows looking out onto the street. Surprise is not a dangerous city, but the windows being 2 feet from my face as I tried to sleep just wasn't cutting it. I could hear every car door close, every person walking on the sidelwalk, etc. (like I said, i'm a freak when it comes to sleeping). Like most situations, my hero of a husband worked it out for me. I made a comment in passing one day that he should put dry-wall over the windows to make it look like they were never there. My sweet Devin not only took that seriously, but made it a reality. He is so talented when it comes to home improvements.

Well as I was writing this and feeling pretty bad about the fact that I'm a crazy person when it comes to my sleep time, I had a fond memory that I'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure she's normal now in this department, but let's take a stroll down memory lane anyway! Let's set the stage, shall we?

It was 5 in the morning after our Senior Grad Night celebration. We (Me, Amy, Leigh Ann, Alison Francis, Selena, and Jessica) were all sleeping at Alison Francis' house. Most of us were still awake, having a grand old time, not even thinking about going to sleep, when Selena suddenly appeared from her sleeping bag, hair messy, eyes bloodshot, and said, "YOU GUYS!!@#!@# I REALLY NEED TO GET SOME SLEEP!!! YOU ALL NEED TO SHUT UP!!!" I think this is the funniest memory because Selena is the least person to be a party-pooper ever. I wonder if anyone else remembers that. Good memories.

Hello 3rd Trimester!

Yesterday was the start of my 3rd trimester for Baby Barry! I am feeling large-and-in-charge but happy because our sweet baby will be here soon.

I bought them several years ago at Target, not knowing that they would be the staple of my pregnancy wardrobe. I seriously live in them. It's gross.

New Moon

Ok so I'm on page 300 of New Moon and I am going crazy. I am mad that Edward has not been in the story for so long. He's all I want to hear about! (No, Devin, I do not have a crush on him). Can someone please tell me that they were frustrated at this part, too? Don't tell me what happens or when he gets into the story again, just empathize with me! Can you tell I'm obsessed? I have been reading it at my desk at work all day, even though I'm not supposed to read at my desk.

I've Jumped on the Bandwagon

I am officially a fan of the Twilight series. I bought the first book on Saturday, and have been obsessed ever since. I am almost finished and I can't wait to get home and see what happens. I am usually not much of a reader, but this book is DANG GOOD! I usually don't like "fantasy" stories, either, like vampires, etc., but again, this book is DANG GOOD! I can't wait to start on the next one.

A Happy Surprise

Today has been a historically slow day at work. My day was brightened at around noon when my co-worker came to my desk with a big box that had arrived for me! It was a massive box for what it held inside. I opened it up and found a cooler and icepacks. There was a chocolate and caramel covered apple inside, sent all the way from Washington!!!

It turns out it was from a lady here at work who(whom?) I had given a ride home to on Wednesday. She was so gratful for the ride that she sent me this happy pick-me-up!

Lately I have been praying for a chance to serve others because I have been feeling very selfish. I was delighted when I found this lady in need of a ride this week. Devin was able to serve someone on the job this week, too. He basically saved a guy's life yesterday when he ran for help after a window had shattered on the man's arm. The man was bleeding profusely and there weren't any cell phones around. Devin ran the length of a football field to a nearby office and phoned for help. He then ran back to the man, bringing more helpers along the way, and stayed with him until an ambulance came. What a fine man Devin is!

Poo

The smell of poo is following me today (yes, I checked to make sure it isn't me). I am a frequent patron of the restrooms here at work, and every time I go to empty my bladder the bathroom smells of rancid diarrhea. There are 4 different bathrooms to choose from in my office. I have used 3 of the 4 so far this morning, and you guessed it, they all had that smell. What have people been eating??! The worst part is, there is a bathroom approx. 10 feet from my desk, and someone must have exploded before I got here, because I had to prop the door open it was so bad.
