Conference

4 years ago Devin and I went to General Conference in Salt Lake City. The thing that sticks out most to me about that experience (besides Devin and Scott playing "that's what she said" the entire drive up and laughing so hard they almost threw up), was the way the choir sounded in the conference center. The music echoed so loudly that you could feel it in your chest. I remember thinking that I'm sure heaven will sound just like that.

Hearing it on TV is not nearly the same as hearing it live. Sam is 2, so he of course did not pay attention to conference whatsoever, except to point out the trees that were shown outside the temple at the start of each session. When the choir sang, however, Sam actually stopped playing with his cars and listened.

Being at home all day and having the TV on all day makes having snacks a necessity. Since I am on the Maker's Diet (only 13 more pounds to lose!) I made these:

Don't they look like real cookies? I made a dozen. Guess how many I ate. A dozen. (I tried to share them but Devin doesn't like anything that appears to be healthy and Sam didn't think they were that great. Yes I ate the rest of his cookie that he had taken a bite out of. There is no stopping me when cookies are around. Wow I am still going on about cookies).

Here is how you make them:

2 ripe bananas
2 cups uncooked rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup coconut or olive oil
1 cup raisins

Blend bananas, vanilla, oil, and 1 cup oats together in the blender until smooth. Add the other cup of oats and raisins to the mixture. Form into 12 balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten with spoon. Cook at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

The End.

Only 13 pounds to go?!? Wow, you amaze me! You've got Brooklynn converted and she is trying so hard. I hate to say it but I am not very good at helping her stay on it. I look forward to trying those cookies! Thanks for the recipe.

Thanks for the recipe Allison! I'm trying desperately to lose 20 lbs I'm still packin' after Griffin and am sure having a hard time of it. I need to read back and learn more about your Maker's Diet.
