I looked at Devin tonight in the kitchen with sad eyes and asked him, "Do you hate me?"
He had just gone to the store and bought all the ingredients for my formerly favorite meal, fajitas. When he got home and started preparing it, I informed him that the thought of bell peppers made me want to run for the toilet.
Devin laughed and said no, he didn't hate me.
Then I asked, "Are you frustrated?"
He laughed and said yes.
Dear Devin has been picking up all the slack since the normal Allison went missing. He has been doing all the Bashas' runs, changing most of the poopie diapers, getting me drinks of water, ginger ale, and crackers within the first 3 seconds of me being awake, and the list goes on. Saturday night he took me out for a Vday dinner, even getting me a card and some candy. I got him nothing.
I looked in the mirror today and saw the first signs of my old BFF: pregnancy face. Crap. It's starting.
A week ago I went to Sprouts and stocked up on my healthy food. Now when I look at that food in the fridge, I get waves of nausea. Oh don't worry, I can eat macaroni and cheese just fine.
After Devin admitted his frustration in the kitchen, I asked him, "Is it worth it?"
Without any hesitation, he said yes.
I like him.

I like you both! I would read your book if you wrote one!
Haha you are cute.
We missed you at our meeting, sorry you are feeling so bad. That sucks. Hopefully it will be over soon and you will be back to your motivated, cleaning, healthy self. And if not. No big deal, because like you said, it's worth it!
Have you guys thought of names for the baby? It's all so exciting. Sam will be a very good big brother. What ever happened with the puppy? Did you decided to give her away? I hope you're feeling better soon.
its totally worth it. just keep thinking that!! that is very sweet of devin.
that just reminded me of that text he sent me the other day of your dog lounging on the couch with the remote. funnnnny. i wish we still liked our dogs...

I love that. It is exactly how most of us women feel when we are pregnant. How great that Devin is amazing for you while you are sick and "blah". You are a lucky girl, Allison!
