questions

I know I'm not one to talk, but no one seems to be answering their phones for me tonight! I have 2 questions:

Samson is getting a little tooth and he is quite fussy...he doesn't seem to quite understand the concept of teethers yet. The only thing that seemed to calm him down was when I put his pacifier in the freezer, but that lost its coldness in about 15 seconds. Does anyone have more tricks? Oh yeah, and I gave him Tylenol, too.

I bought chicken last week that has been in the fridge. Its "sell by" date is today, but when I opened up it smelled kind of weird...like slightly sulfuric. Should I throw it out or does chicken normally have a slight smell and I've just never sniffed it?
Here is a random picture (because we all know posts are better with pictures) in honor of my sweet father-in-law, John. He has his "going away surgery" (Brenda gets the credit for that joke) tomorrow. I know you don't read the blogs, but we love you and are praying for you!

Hmmmm... is Sam really getting a tooth already? That's amazingly early! I thought MJ was teething since he was 2 months- it was the only thing I could use to justify all his fussiness and drool! If he is getting a tooth though- I think you're what is right. It's kind of tough to get through it, but you will!
The chicken thing, I don't think it's supposed to smell... maybe maybe not. I would google it! Haha.

Ashlyn teethed really early too. (but then the tooth ended up going back in) I just let her bite on my finger at that age...she also loved chewing on her soothie pacifier since she wouldn't suck on it.
I'd take the chicken back? Actually, I probably wouldn't but that's dumb if it's already bad.

You should buy 100 pacifiers and keep them rotating.

Cook the chicken and feed it to Dix.

Did the tylenol help? Greg actually got a tooth at three months. It came through and then went back for three months. There used to be a product called 'numbsit' that you put directly on his the gum.

I wouldn't chance the chicken.

Love the picture of John!

you could stick a wet washcloth in the freezer for a bit and then let him suck on it. Lola loved that.

I used to make pancakes and freeze them....and Lana would just nibble and suck on them.(it can get messy though) But Lana was also older when her teeth started coming in. It worked for me and kept her BUSY :) oh, I also tried the teething tablets you just put in water and and have them drink it...that worked a lot too! Hope something works ..teething can get rough :)

As for the chicken..ya that's a NO GO I would say.

I have frozen a wet rag in the freezer and those seem to last allot longer-as they suck it turns wet and they love the texture of wash cloths. GOOD LUCK it is nooo fun. If coming out of your momma wasn;t hard enough- TEETh are the killers!

We have always used teething tablets and I swear by them. You can also put a rag with a wet corner to two in the freezer and kids love to chew or suck on the frozen corners and if you leave the rest of it dry, it won't be too messy or cold. As for the chicken, I always get too nervous and just throw it away when in doubt. Other meats I might try, but chicken is too risky in my opinion. When teething, my kids have always loved certain foods: biter biscuits, zweiback toast, wagon wheels, carrots, celery, pretzle sticks(the large kind) and pickles.
