Then on Saturday we headed up to Sedona for our anniversary celebration (1 year on June 8). Devin insisted on wearing his "Deez Nutz" shirt while we were at the resort restaurant. I felt like such white trash with him wearing that. I told him all he needs now is one of those shirts with a girl busting out of a bikini standing next to a sports car.
Sedona was fun...we had a MASSIVE cottage for just the 2 of us. It even had a loft with 2 twin beds. Devin said, "If this wasn't our anniversary, I'd be on the horn right now calling up people to join us." Yes, he called the phone "horn."
The whole time Devin kept complaining that he couldn't get all his pee out. He would then complain that his back hurt, his neck was killing him, etc. At one point I asked him if there was anything that didn't hurt. We decided that his lips did not hurt. So meanwhile, his bladder was filling up with pee that he just could not get out. He had not had a full pee session since Friday night.
We got back into town Sunday morning, the day of our actual anniversary. Devin still had not had anything more than drips of pee, so, after his mom and I talking him into it, Devin decided he should go to urgent care. After sitting in the waiting room for about an hour, with a room full of people who were loudly entertained by the show "Dirty Jobs," we were called back. The doctor told Devin that he needed to go the ER because his kidneys could rupture. So, we headed to the ER.
At the ER Devin had to endure a catheter. It was not a happy experience. Devin said it was the worst pain he has ever felt. By the looks of it, I totally agree. I felt so bad for him and there was nothing I could do to stop it. They finally figured out it was a prostate infection. I guess guys can get them as easily as girls can get UTIs. The doctor told him as we left, "drink plenty of water and don't do any bikeriding." and we just bought new bikes for each other for our anniversary.

That shirt's awesome by the way... totally white trash, but awesome.
How fun you got to stay in a cottage. Did you like it? I keep trying to convince Merritt to go to Sedona, so we need some good advice of where to stay, eat, play. It's so beautiful there.
Poor Dev and his pee problem! Sounds painful!! Glad he got there in time to fix things. Good thing it's a little to hot out to ride bikes anyway :/
That IS crazy. Sorry to hear about your pee problems, Devin. And right after you got a new bike. Do they make donut pillows for bikes?!?
DEEZ NUTS!!!! That shirt is sick! I'm pretty sure I googled that once to see if I could find a t-shirt like that but let's just say that's not what came up! Congratualtions on the "Deezy JR" growing inside of you! I can't wait to see ya'll in a couple weeks!
Wow, that sounds really eventful. Did you really get each other bikes?! Good thing you guys convinced him to go in. About the catheder(sp?)...I forgot that you haven't had a baby yet. Just wait...that's the least of your worries, and remind Devin of that too. :)
poor Dev. He has the most health problems of the family. Atleast it wasn't kidney stones but what a pain to go to Urgent care and wait and then have to go ER and then have to get a catheder. I hope his peeing is back to normal now.
What a fun trip though besides all the health complaints. I laughed when you said that Devin's lips didn't hurt. :)
Hopefully you'll get to ride your bikes together soon!
I don't even know what to say. Thanks for brightening my day. Misery loves company. I was reading the comments too. Did Scott just say "Deezy JR"?? Now that's dirty. Allison your journalism is hilarious! Good luck Dev.
Adam says - At least you didn't wear Allison's pants to dinner. haha
Ok- you don't have to have a catheter when you have DEVIN Jr.- only IF you go natural :)
You were right by our house, here!! Has it already been a year? CONGRATS!!! poor poor Devin--he is getting a taste of what you are going to go through! Happy Anniversary!!
Merritt and I just watched the video on Brooklyn's blog "Get your Groove On". We were thoroughly entertained. I want another one!!! If you have any secreted stored on your computer, please send them my way! It was awesome.
PS- You are great at editing videos. I want you to teach me!
Sorry about your weekend, Dev...glad you went to the urgent care though! Congrats on your first anniversary!! I remember sitting at a table at your wedding with Mike and Vanessa and Ryan Reid to eat...and who would have ever guessed that a little over a year later, we would be sitting at a table watching our kids celebrate their marriage! I never would have guessed! Life is interesting how it all turns out! Thanks for all your help with the shower...it was very nice! Looking forward to the wedding, and having another daughter-in-law! Take care of that cute little guy rolling around inside you!
